The simple task of cooking an egg.You have your new, shiny non-stick pan with a little oil; you break the egg and listen to that lovely sizzle. But then, PANIC! Your nylon spatula has been sat on the side of too many pans and now the handle has started to melt and fall off. Even worse, the edges are so deformed by the heat that they stick to anything, making it impossible to even separate a couple of frying eggs, or flip a pancake. You turn to your old wooden spatula, but when it comes out of the dishwasher you see that it has a horrible coating and feels slimy to the touch.
